Project Report

Task to be completed 27-9-10
Date, student comments, answers to questions and results of task.
Lesson 1: Introduction and discussion about scientific method.
Why do you think the scientific method an important process?

Decide what factor can be measured to determine which is the 'best' paper airplane.

Write a question that states what your group would like to investigate.
INTRODUCTION!!!!!!!!

we have decided that for the best paper plane, it has go the farthest in the air.

For this, we have decided to use the dart for two planes but, adding a larger wingspan to this a inlarging the plane from A4 to A3.

For the third plane, we are using a totally different plane
Lesson 2: Research of different paper planes to determine which variable you will test (length of plane, width of plane, mass etc) that affects the factor you are measuring
(length of flight, height of flight, accuracy of flight).
Write three to five notes about what you have learnt from your research.

TYPES OF THE PLANE OF OUR PLANES:

1-The large dart plane!

2-The medium,light dart plane!

3-The mini,light dart plane!

Write your hypothesis in the cell at right.

Lesson 3: Independent, controlled and dependent variables.
Write out your experimental procedure, adding any steps you feel are necessary.

IN OUR BOOKS....
OUR HYPOTHESIS!!!!!!

Our hypothesis, is the lighter the plane and the more aerodynamic the plane is the furthest!
Lesson 4: Trials
Choose three planes and complete five trials for each plane.
Collect the data for each trial.
Complete the Google form (Result Entry Form) with your results
One member of the group should be responsible for filming a student explaining the hypothesis being tested, the actual flight trials or post-flight results.

Lesson 5: Graph your results and post your video to the wiki.

Lesson 6: Compare your results with those of other students.

TITLE= The Great Flight.

Aim- to see how far the our paper can glide.

Materials-
-A4x1
-pad paper x1
-A3x1

Method- 1- with a4 piece of paper fold into half lengthwise.

2-Now un-fold the paper, fold down the top corners.

3- fold the two edges toward the center.

4-make a valley fold in half. turn the plane 90' degrees.

5-Create a wing crease that begins at the nose

6-Form a 3 dimensional shape by bending the wings down.Bend up the tailing edge wings for lift if it is nose diving.

7-Repeat this procedure, but instead of A4 use A3 and pad paper.
